The Meningitis Trust is one of the UK's longest established meningitis charities, offering support to anyone affected by the life-changing disease. The Trust currently helps around 20,000 people each year through the following professional free services:

• 24-hour freephone nurse-led helpline
• Professional counselling
• Financial grants
• Home visits
• One-to-one contacts
• Community support

These services are offered to anyone affected by meningitis, either directly or indirectly and are completely free of charge. Meningitis not only impacts the lives of those personally affected, but also the wider family, the individuals' friends, neighbours, and colleagues. The Trust's support is for life; the after-effects of meningitis can be lifelong and the Trust offers support for as long as it is needed. The Meningitis Trust is completely reliant on voluntary donations to continue its work.

The Trust is also committed to raising awareness of the signs and symptoms of meningitis and produces and distributes millions of free leaflets, posters, symptoms cards, information sheets and other materials every year.
