Wings Aeromedical Service currently manages over 3,000 cases per year, resulting in over 1,000 escorted commercial medical repatriations and over 200 air ambulance repatriations per year. As an assistance company Alert Assistance-Wings offers 24-hour medical help through their emergency telephone lines.

Their team of doctors, nurses and operations co-ordinators have many years experience in arranging repatriation.

They will:

• Discuss the patient's medical condition and requirements for repatriation directly with the local treating doctor.
• Organise all air ambulance or commercial flights, depending on the medical requirements of the patient.
• Arrange all road ambulance sections of the journey home.
• Organise for re-admission to a hospital near the patient's home, should this be required.
• Advise the family doctor of the patient's medical condition and repatriation arrangements.

Wings Road Ambulance Service currently provides routine and emergency transport for a variety of NHS and private hospitals, including transfer of paediatric, cardiac and renal patients within the Bristol and Bath areas as well as inter-county transfer. In addition they are also part of the emergency service for the Avon area.

They also provide first aid/medical cover for sports events, music festivals, dog shows and also for location filming. This type of cover is provided on a contract basis as well as for private arrangements.

The company operates a total fleet of 25 vehicles at its headquarters in Bristol.
