Weymouth Aftercare Centre (Carlton House) was opened as a residential care home in 1986 to provide an abstinence based recovery programme for drug, alcohol and associated addictions for up to fifteen male residents. Referrals and introductions can come from any source.

This CQC registered rehabilitation centre, with trained staff 24 hours a day, offers a community living setting using the 12-step philosophy and an eclectic range of modes as support. It assists, encourages and enables each client to recover from their individual dependencies, achieve and maintain an abstinent lifestyle, and to develop and improve life skills, particularly in relation to stress and anger management.

By means of group and written work, 1 to 1 counselling, art expression, workshops, literature and recorded media, together with therapeutic voluntary work and education tie-ins with the local training colleges and resources, residents can continue the road to recovery.

Weymouth Aftercare Centre (Worcester House) is the extended care unit. It was opened in 1989 in response to an identified need that a number of clients had difficulty in reintegrating themselves into the community due to their varied histories, abilities and backgrounds.

The programme consists of one group session per week, individual counselling and practical and life-skills assistance as required. They provide support and time while clients work towards their own independent living.

Weymouth Aftercare Centre additionally supports resettlement and move-ons, and offers day and aftercare services built around relapse prevention and individual counselling.
