Stabilisation Services is a not for profit organisation and registered charity providing residential treatment for people with problems such as alcohol dependency, illicit drug misuse, eating disorders and gambling. They are an EATA (European Association for the Treatment of Addiction) Accredited organisation and are members of the Federation of Drug and Alcohol Professionals.
In 1996 Stabilisation Services established Vale House in Hertford to respond to an urgent need for the treatment of alcohol and drug misusers in the local area. Vale House is now an 8 bed unit, providing comfortable living conditions in a therapeutic community setting. They welcome male and female residents aged 18 years upwards with substance misuse and all levels of dependency. Each resident is provided with their own bedroom. Vale House now includes satellite structured day care services in four other Hertfordshire locations, a DRR service, and a Probation Service partnership.
In 2007 Stabilisation Services were successful in securing funding from the NHS to transform a grade II listed building in Harlow Essex into a new, state of the art 18 bed residential detoxification and rehabilitation centre. Passmores House became fully operational in April 2009. All patients receive an assessment, followed by individualised treatment to establish the necessary skills required for positive change.
Stabilisation Services has connections with local colleges to assist with further learning opportunities and extensive contacts with local businesses for voluntary placements, each after three months in treatment.
