Trigeminal Neuralgia is a pain of the trigeminal nerve which can flare up suddenly causing excruciating facial pain. The Trigeminal Neuralgia Self-Help Group was set up by a sufferer of the condition in order to pass on advice to other sufferers. Features of the group are as follows:

• The group's members are all or have been sufferers and a number are willing to write to newly diagnosed people or talk to them on the telephone.
• Information sheets concerning the condition, its treatment, letters from neurosurgeons around the country who are able to offer surgical treatment, and a list of group members who may be contacted can be obtained for a small donation towards production costs.
• The group actively encourages improved knowledge of available treatment and progress of sufferers through shared experience and direct contact with the medical profession.
