The Scottish Sensory Centre promotes and supports new developments in effective practices in the education of children and young people with sensory impairments (visual, deaf and deafblind). It works in collaboration with education professionals, voluntary organisations, parents and young people.
The Centre organises short courses and produces a regular newsletter and other publications and videos. Bibliographies, resource documents and a UK contacts database are available online. A postal lending service enables access to a specialist collection of books, videos, etc.
Please note that the Centre staff regret that they cannot deal with individual enquiries, except from people in Scotland, regarding visually impaired and deaf young people in the 0-19 age group.
The authors and editors of this article are employed to create accurate and up to date content reflecting reliable research evidence, guidance and best clinical practice. They are free from any commercial conflicts of interest. Find out more about updating.
