The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) is the professional body for speech and language therapists in the UK. It is responsible for setting, promoting and maintaining high standards in the education, clinical practice and ethical conduct of speech and language therapists.
Most clients can contact a speech and language therapist (SLT) directly with the speech and language therapy service, or through the GP, health visitor, local health centre, clinic or hospital. The College maintains a register of practising members and provides information services, professional and clinical guidelines, supports continuing professional development for SLTs and lobbies on behalf of SLTs and those with speech, language, communication and swallowing disorders.
