Tyne Panel is the REMAP Panel of the North East of England and covers the area from Durham to the Scottish border and, to the west, to Haltwhistle. The Panel was originally called the Northumberland South Panel which was established in 1995. Around 2008 it became the Tyne-Tweed Panel and in 2003, due to the Wear and South Panel disbanding, it became simply the Tyne Panel.
Remap (Rehabilitation Engineering Movement Advisory Panels) was formed in 1964 by engineers, handymen and others working in Billingham.
The objects of the charity are to relieve and rehabilitate disabled persons by promoting the use of technology to meet the needs of such persons and by providing and assisting in providing specialised equipment designed to enhance the integration of such persons into the community.
