The Pituitary Foundation is a charity working to support pituitary patients and their carers.
- By providing support to patients, their families and carers in local support groups throughout the UK. (Contact the Foundation for a list of area co-ordinators.) Because most of these disorders are rare, many patients have had little or no opportunity to meet and talk with others who have already been through the same experiences.
- Publication of the newsletter Pituitary Life.
- Organising seminars delivered by endocrine and other specialists at the regional and national conferences.
- Telephone support through a national helpline and the services of an endocrine nurse helpline at specified time slots throughout each week and by email.
- A telephone buddies network.
Publications available include the following: The Pituitary Gland, Prolactinoma, Acromegaly, Psychological Issues in Pituitary Disease, Pituitary Surgery, Pituitary Radiotherapy, Hypogonadism and Infertility: A guide for men, Hypopituitarism and Replacement Therapy, GP Factfile, Diabetes Insipidus, Cushing's, Adult Growth Hormone Replacement.
