The Perthes Association Scotland tries to advise and help in a practical way, families of children suffering from Perthes' disease. Help is offered in the following ways:

• A member of the Association is available at the end of a telephone line for any worried or distressed parents.
• Visits to children in hospital or at home can be arranged.
• Families will be put in touch with the Perthes family living nearest to them as this can provide welcome support, particularly when the condition is first diagnosed.
• Free of charge equipment loan including hand-propelled trikes, and wheelchairs.
• Outings are arranged.
• Annual newsletter.

The Association produces a useful information booklet which includes information on the disease and diagnosis, treatment, clothing and footwear, financial assistance and leisure activities.
