PETS (the Pre-Eclampsia Society) is a registered charity and a support and information society for women, run by women who themselves have had Pre-Eclampsia. Alternative names are Pre-Eclamptic Toxaemia (PET), Toxaemia, EPH Gestosis or Metabolic Toxaemia of Late Pregnancy. There are also interested professionals amongst the membership. Members of PETS have access to the following services. (There is a modest annual subscription.)
- Regular newsletters.
- A network of women who have had Pre-eclampsia and are willing to talk by telephone to those experiencing problems or needing support.
- Use of the library Lending Service.
- Emotional support.
- Information on current research and thinking.
- Information on diet for PET sufferers.
The authors and editors of this article are employed to create accurate and up to date content reflecting reliable research evidence, guidance and best clinical practice. They are free from any commercial conflicts of interest. Find out more about updating.
