Newbridge House is a specialist eating disorder centre for the treatment of young people aged 12 to 18 with anorexia and bulimia. Their inpatient programme has been developed to meet the distinctive psychological, medical, educational and social needs of young people with eating disorders. Newbridge House is a welcoming domestic setting for the treatment of eating disorders. They have a family-centred approach, recognising that effective treatment for a young person with an eating disorder must be fully inclusive and supportive of their family.
They also provide a separate programme of individually-tailored outpatient therapy. This involves coming to Newbridge House for an initial assessment, followed by therapy sessions of one hour's duration every week, to meet your personal needs. This approach is ideal for adults and young people who do not need to stay in Newbridge House for inpatient care, but have eating disorders which require specialist treatment. The outpatient programme is run by our experienced psychiatrists and psychologists in therapy rooms within Newbridge House. The outpatient programme is designed for adults with anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorder.
The Medical Director of Newbridge House is Professor Hubert Lacey, who runs the Eating Disorders Service at St George's Hospital, London.
