The National Reye's Syndrome Foundation of the United Kingdom was formed to provide funds for research into the cause, treatment, cure and prevention of Reye's syndrome and Reye-like illnesses, to inform both the public and medical communities and to provide support for parents whose children have suffered from these diseases. Research is needed in the following areas.

• Find the cause of Reye's syndrome and Reye-like illnesses.
• Develop improved means of early detection.
• Improve treatment methods.

The Foundation produces a leaflet entitled Your Child and Reye's Syndrome - The Facts, The Dangers.
