Hypno-psychotherapy aims to help with general relaxation and stress relief and a range of psychological problems. The National Register of Hypnotherapists & Psychotherapists (NRHP) is a leading professional body representing qualified hypno-psychotherapists. The NRHP keeps a database of hypnotherapists throughout the country. A public referral service, for those seeking a hypno-psychotherapist, is provided free of charge by telephone or send a stamped addressed envelope for a local listing.
All members of the Register are required to adhere to a Code of Ethics and are strictly regulated in terms of ongoing supervision/peer supervision and the requirement to carry professional indemnity insurance. The NRHP is a member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy and all members have trained to a recognised standard.
Charges for therapy are set independently by individual therapists but the average fee is between £25 - £40 per hourly session (based on recent annual survey of members). Many practitioners give a free initial consultation.
