The Myasthenia Gravis Association is a voluntary organisation with charitable status, whose funds are directed into three main areas: the support of research into management and cure of the disease; the provision of a national support network; increasing public and medical awareness of myasthenia gravis.
Local support groups highlight MGA's activities and help break down isolation by giving members and their families an opportunity to meet and share experiences in a friendly and caring atmosphere.
An information service operates at the head office in Derby, while the Association's regional organisers are available to meet and advise patients and professionals. In addition, the newsletter, national conferences and regional meetings provide information and encouragement to all those coping with myasthenia gravis.
A free information pack is available and individuals can be put in touch with a regional organiser or local group or representative.
This organsition has been certified as a producer of reliable health and social care information.
