The Misophonia UK website provides information about the under-diagnosed neuro-otological condition misophonia, which is usually characterised by an extreme aversion to anthropogenic sounds, such as eating and breathing, but can also involve many other types of sounds. People with misophonia often become depressed and anxious, and may be excluded from work, school and social settings because of their lack of tolerance of fellow human beings.
