Lauren's Link is an organisation offering support to parents and carers of drug or alcohol misusers and was formed due to the tragic death of 16 year old Lauren Rodgers, of heroin abuse.

Lauren's Link runs a support meeting for parents / carers from all walks of life to meet an share their experiences.

Lauren's Link support group meetings are every Tuesday from 6pm until 8.30pm in Derby. If you think that you would be uncomfortable sharing with others then Lauren's Link offers one to one support. The office is open for this service from 10am until 3pm by appointment.

Angels

Angels is affiliated to Lauren's Link and was formed as a bereavement service in February 2003 for families and loved ones bereaved as a result of drug misuse. Some families find it difficult to come to terms with their loved one misusing drugs and the lifestyle that they have to lead to fund their drug habit. It really does help to be able to talk over their drug misuse with people who share experiences. Angels holds support meetings once a month in Derby.

Building Bridges

Building Bridges is affiliated to Lauren's Link. The aim of the project is to work closely with individuals involved in the Criminal Justice System within Derby City. The project focuses on the following key points:

  • To reduce the risk of re-offending.
  • To support the re-integration into communities following a prison sentence.
  • Encourage contact with families.
  • Provide a mediation service, if required.
  • Signpost and liaise with other relevant agencies.
