I CAN is the children's communication charity. I CAN works to develop speech, language, and communication skills for all children, and its particular focus is children who find communication hard.
I CAN provides a combination of specialist therapy and education for children with the most severe and complex disabilities, information for parents, and training and advice for teachers and other professionals. They also work to ensure that the needs of these children are taken into account in all children's policy and carry out research to find the best ways to support these children.
The authors and editors of this article are employed to create accurate and up to date content reflecting reliable research evidence, guidance and best clinical practice. They are free from any commercial conflicts of interest. Find out more about updating.
