The Herpes Viruses Association supplies up to date information on herpes simplex virus to the media, health professionals, and the public. This viral skin condition is known as cold sores (on face), whitlows (on fingers) or 'herpes' on genitals or other skin areas.
People who get too many outbreaks or who are concerned about "herpes" can receive counselling and advice via the helpline or by letter. Subscribers to the Association receive leaflets, articles, a quarterly journal SPHERE, invitations to workshops, seminars and social events. You can obtain these through the website shop or by sending a stamped addressed envelope to the above address for further details. Publications include:
- Herpes Simplex - The Guide
- Transmission
- Pregnancy & Childbirth
- Talking to (new) partners
- Summary of tips to prevent recurrences
They also produce materials for health professionals: posters, patient cards, etc.
