The HSE's job is to protect people against risks to health or safety arising out of work activities.
Their mission is to protect people's health and safety by ensuring risks in the changing workplace are properly controlled, and their vision is to see Health and Safety as a cornerstone of a civilised society and, with that, to achieve a record of workplace health and safety that leads the world.
They do this through research, information and advice, promoting training, new or revised regulations and codes of practice, inspection, investigation and enforcement.
Infoline is HSE's public enquiry contact centre. Infoline provides access to workplace health and safety information, guidance, support and expert advice.
HSE recognises that to raise the profile of health and safety is a vital component of worker and public protection and an intrinsic part of community health and wellbeing. To achieve these aims they need to work together and with others in close partnership.
