AIMS

Disability Alliance is committed to breaking the link between poverty and disability by providing information to disabled people about their entitlements and campaigning for improvements to the social security system and for increases in disability benefits so that they better reflect the real costs of disability.

Members

Disability Alliance has 380 paid member organisations. (There are three price bands for annual membership depending on size of organisation.)

Publications

Disability Rights Handbook is published annually. It is a comprehensive guide to social security benefits and services for disabled people. Information runs from April - April (published in May each year). Further publications, information for private individuals and professionals. Recent titles include: Starting out.

Briefings

Briefings, factsheets and responses on a range of subjects, free by post, send A4 stamped addressed envelope, or download from the website.

Campaigning for change

Regular meetings with government ministers and civil servants. Written responses made to Government consultation documents, and evidence provided to House of Commons Select Committees.
