The Disabilities Trust is a national charity providing care, rehabilitation and support for people with profound physical impairments, acquired brain injury, and learning disabilities, as well as children and adults with autism.
Founded in Sussex in 1979, they now operate a national network of quality, innovative services, aimed at empowering each of their service users to live more fulfilling, independent lives. Through their modern, progressive facilities, complemented by a skilled staff team, they currently support over 900 people with complex and challenging needs.
Their services have evolved to seek new, imaginative solutions for people with disabilities. For example, in recent years they have taken on a service for adults with learning disabilities in Essex and opened a rehabilitation service for people with acquired brain injury in Sussex. They are also rapidly expanding their residential and community based services across the country to meet growing demand for expert brain injury rehabilitation services.
