The purpose of The Communication Trust is to raise awareness of the importance of speech, language and communication across the children's workforce and to enable practitioners to access the best training and expertise to support the communication needs of all children.
The Communication Trust was founded by Afasic, BT Better World Campaign, Council for Disabled Children (CDC) and I CAN, who now form the programme board. Scope and The Children's Society were voted onto the board to increase the breadth and depth of skills. This small core group is supported by the Communication Consortium, a number of partners and stakeholders which includes over 30 voluntary and community groups who deliver services to help children communicate.
This organsition has been certified as a producer of reliable health and social care information.
