Childlink's principal objectives are the placement of children in need of adoption and counselling, preparation, assessment and support of all parties to the process. Its services include the following:

• Recruiting, counselling, preparing, and assessing prospective adoptive parents (primarily living in London and the South East).
• Linking adopters with children referred by local authorities throughout the UK and other adoption agencies.
• Providing post-placement and post-adoption support to the adopters and their children.
• Counselling placed adopted adults, their birth relatives and adopters.
• Acting as an intermediary in facilitating contact and reunions between those separated by adoption.

Childlink produces leaflets and a newsletter.
