The Centre for Complementary and Integrated Medicine aims to provide a specialist, cost-effective and information-led complementary medical service both privately and within the NHS and to promote the teaching, research and development of complementary medicine. It has practices at Southampton and London. Features of the Centre are as follows:
- The partners are medically trained and multi-skilled, being qualified in acupuncture, homeopathy, nutritional medicine and with broad-based experience in diagnosing and treating food and chemical sensitivity. Therefore, conditions can be managed at a number of levels. Patients also receive support from trained nurses and other paramedical staff at the practices in Southampton and London.
- The Centre is open to individuals from throughout the UK. Private patients may telephone for an appointment; fees can be reimbursed by a number of health insurance companies if patients are referred to the Centre by their GP. Some are seen as NHS patients. Discuss this with the Centre and your GP.
- The Centre has strong links with Southampton University Medical School.
- A dispensary is operated from the Southampton practice.
