Careline provides confidential crisis telephone counselling to children, young people and adults. Careline is a registered charity and takes calls from all over the UK. Types of calls dealt with by Careline include those involving: family, marital and relationship problems, rape and sexual assault, child abuse, bullying, exam worries, eating disorders, HIV/AIDS and sexual health, bereavement, drug and alcohol addictions, homelessness, disability, ethnic issues, stress, depression, loneliness, anxieties and phobias.
Careline maintains an extensive information system which contains details of other agencies and support groups throughout the country and can refer callers to a specific agency when required. Volunteers are all trained crisis telephone counsellors who also receive ongoing training and regular supervision. Careline adheres to the British Association of Counselling's Code of Ethics.
Careline also provides face to face counselling and hypnotherapy which is low cost. This is available for anyone who is able to attend the counselling office in Ilford.
