Capability Scotland is one of the leading Scottish disability organisations and has nearly 60 years experience of providing services to disabled people of all ages in Scotland.

Services

From their original purpose of supporting people with cerebral palsy, they have developed to support children, young people and adults with a range of disabilities. Today they are one of Scotland's leading disability organisations providing a diverse range of services including community living, day and residential services, employment, respite/short breaks, therapy, education and learning, family support and activities.

Campaigning

Apart from providing services they are also a campaigning organisation and are committed to working with disabled people to create a just and fair Scotland.

ASCS

The national advice and information service - Advice Service Capability Scotland, or ASCS as it is better known, provides free confidential advice and information on a range of disability issues including specialist advice on cerebral palsy.

Equality Unit

They also have their own Equality Unit which supports organisations throughout Scotland to meet their legal responsibilities and good practice when it comes to disabled customers and employees.

Volunteering Opportunities

They have over 500 volunteers. They offer many different types of volunteering opportunities from helping out with activities in their services and centres, to working in their shops or helping out with fundraising events.
