Cancerbackup is a national charity providing free information and support to people affected by cancer, their families and friends. The information service is staffed by cancer nurse specialists who answer questions on any aspect of cancer (call the helpline number above). Other services include the following.
- Cancerbackup produces over 70 booklets and 200 factsheets on cancer, its treatment and issues related to coping with cancer. These are available free of charge to people with cancer, their families and friends. Contact the above address for a full publication list - titles include: Coping at home: caring for someone with advanced cancer; Diet and the cancer patient; What do I tell the children?; Lost for words: how to talk to someone with cancer; Who can ever understand: Talking about your cancer; as well as booklets on the various types of cancer and specific treatments.
- Cancerbackup's website carries all their publications as well as more in-depth information and links to other cancer information sites around the world.
- Cancerbackup News, published three times a year, features the latest developments in the management of cancer, patients' letters and experiences, information about Cancerbackup and fundraising events.
