Camp Quality UK is a non-profit organisation that is committed to giving children with cancer or leukaemia a chance to be themselves and to have fun. They do this through a number of different projects and initiatives including group holidays, where the children can enjoy activities like abseiling, sailing, archery, canoeing, rock climbing, swimming, horse riding, but also less strenuous pursuits including box games, crafts, entertainments, and visits to leisure parks. All these activities are supervised by properly trained and qualified staff.
The holiday programme is structured to cater for all abilities and disabilities. They try to let children do what they and the medical team feel they can do. The care of children is their prime concern and it is with this is mind that they staff their holidays to ensure the appropriate level of expertise and experience.
Every holiday is funded entirely by Camp Quality UK and is provided free of charge to each child. Neither the child nor parents have to meet any hidden costs. The children are transported, under supervision from a point near their home or treatment hospital, to the holiday venue and back. They even provide a nominal amount of pocket money during the week.
