Charis is an Alcohol & Drug Therapy Unit, a Tower Hamlets Mission Project.

Tower Hamlets Mission is a Christian Charity, committed to working with people who have alcohol and/or drug dependency, who are either homeless, in danger of becoming homeless, or are receiving state benefits. Their aim is to enable people to break the cycle of chronic addiction definitively and to rebuild purposeful, stable lives through the provision of high quality, comprehensive residential therapy and rehabilitation.

The Charis programme comprises three projects: the Primary Programme (registered as a Care Home), the Second Stage and the Terrace (both Supporting People projects). They are situated in modern, purpose built, residential facilities for up to 26 men with alcoholism and / or drug addiction and who are aware of, and want to do something about, other underlying emotional problems. Charis uses a modified 12 Step approach to recovery.
