The British Holistic Medical Association (BHMA), formed in 1983 by a group of medical doctors and students, is an organisation of professionals and members of the public who want to adopt a more holistic approach in their own life and work. It advocates a healthcare system which incorporates self-care using mind-body-spirit approaches and taking into account the influence of psychological, social and environmental factors. The BHMA's activities include organising conferences and events, advisory work, and producing self-help tapes and publications including the quarterly, Holistic Health.
The BHMA produces a range of self help CDs. CDs come with a pack containing an explanatory booklet, a list of recommended background reading and information about the BHMA. Please contact BHMA for price list.
The following CDs are available.
- Breath of life
- Introducing meditation
- Imagery for relaxation
- Getting to sleep
- Coping with persistent pain
- Coping with stress
There is also a quarterly journal Journal of Holistic Healthcare.
