Bladder and Bowel Foundation (B&BF) is a large UK charity which campaigns for people living with bladder and bowel disorders, including incontinence, constipation and diverticular disease.The organisation is run by patients, carers and healthcare professionals who are committed to raising public and professional awareness and understanding of these common but seldom discussed conditions.
B&BF works with researchers to improve treatments and design innovative products for bladder and bowel disorders and speaks on behalf of those affected and those close to them in order to influence policy makers and service providers in both the private and public sectors. The charity believes all patients should get effective modern help, which will enable them to enjoy a greater quality of life.
The following services are available:
- A nurse helpline offering confidential advice and support (number above).
- A counsellor helpline providing a listening ear (number above).
- Details of your local NHS continence advisory service so you can self-refer.
- Educational booklets, information and fact sheets.
- Access to user-friendly information and support materials for professionals.
- An informative magazine three times a year, keeping you up-to-date with all the latest news and advancements in treatment options.
- A comprehensive website.
- An on-line forum enabling you to share your view and experiences.
- Puts you in touch with people who have been affected by bladder and bowel problems through community groups and telephone links.
