Attend (formerly the National Association of Hospital and Community Friends) works in partnership with health and social care charities, and other statutory and voluntary bodies to ensure that more people can participate in improving the experience of caring services for patients and their families.

Volunteers add a new dimension to the care patients receive in the hospital environment. Volunteers can sometimes achieve amazing results in exceptionally difficult situations. Besides offering invaluable services, volunteers also raise a substantial amount of money each year to gift back to hospitals for equipment and refurbishing projects.

In times of need we rely on our friends and family for many things, but for some of the people most in need of support, having the help of a community volunteer makes all the difference.

Attend also provides support to health and social care charities by providing insurance, grants, advice and more.
