Anthony Nolan maintains the UK's largest register of potential volunteer donors willing to donate their blood stem cells should their tissue type match that of a patient in need of a transplant to help fight leukaemia or related diseases of the immune system.
Anthony Nolan research programmes constantly work to improve the outcome of bone marrow transplantation and have also made a major contribution to advances in the field of leukaemia research and treatment.
Anthony Nolan receives no Government funding and is totally reliant upon voluntary support to maintain its donor register and research work.
People aged between 18 and 40 who are in good health and weigh over eight stone are invited to join the register. Anthony Nolan urges all eligible volunteers to come forward, but they have a specific clinical need to recruit more male, ethnic minority and mixed race volunteers.
Alternatively people can help with fundraising events, please contact the office for details.
