APRIL - Adverse Psychiatric Reactions Information Link

Web: www.april.org.uk

Adverse Psychiatric Reactions Information Link (APRIL) is a registered UK charity. APRIL aims to:

  • Raise awareness of psychiatric adverse drug reactions. Awareness could prevent unnecessary distress and in some cases, save lives.
  • Establish a database of adverse drug reactions, with information from users, physicians, surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses, pharmacists, doctors, research papers and medical literature.
  • Raise funds to sponsor research into why some people are vulnerable to these reactions.
  • Obtain expert guidance and publish information on the best way to help the unfortunate people who do suffer from psychiatric ADRs.
  • Compile a dictionary of drugs with a known risk to mental health either for people with a previous history or no history at all of mental health problems.
