The Association for Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Disorders (AMEND) is a registered UK charity providing international support to all those affected by multiple endocrine neoplasia (MEN) and associated endocrine tumours.
The charity relies entirely upon donations and is run on a voluntary basis by patients and other interested parties. AMEND continually strives to look for ways of improving the care and management of MEN patients, and provides worldwide email and telephone support (including a professional counselling helpline), a research registry and patient information produced with the help of an expert medical advisory team.
AMEND awards an annual Young Investigator Award for academic research into MEN, and also funds places for endocrine nurses at an annual training conference.
The charity's AGM and Information Days and local area meetings are popular with patients who benefit from meeting others with these rare disorders. AMEND also distributes its MEN Passport, produced in 2009, free to patients to help them to keep track of their 'MEN journey'.
Membership and resources are free and available to all via the charity's website.
