ADDISS (the National Attention Deficit Disorder Information and Support Service) provide people-friendly information and resources about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) to anyone who needs assistance - parents, sufferers, teachers or health professionals.
They support a multi-disciplinary assessment and treatment protocol, including education and behavioural interventions, with or without medication. They try to help families find their own most appropriate approach to intervention.
They also hold a 3-day national conference each year, bringing together professionals and people living with ADHD.
The ADDISS Resource Centre on their website has a large range of books and videos covering all aspects of ADHD and related conditions, as well as a reference library where you can look up articles.
ADDISS is a registered charity, run by unpaid staff. Income from their bookstore and conferences directly funds their work, together with donations and grants. You can receive their regular newsletter, as well as updates to their catalogue of resources and news about forthcoming events in the world of ADHD, by subscribing to ADDISS.
The authors and editors of this article are employed to create accurate and up to date content reflecting reliable research evidence, guidance and best clinical practice. They are free from any commercial conflicts of interest. Find out more about updating.
