The Urostomy Association aims to assist all who are about to undergo, or have undergone, surgery resulting in a urinary diversion of any kind. The Association can help in a variety of ways such as helping patients in the period both before and after the operation with such help and information as may be necessary with regard to appliances, housing, work situations, marital problems and assisting them to resume as full a life as possible with every confidence. Visits may be made to patients at home or in hospital before and after an operation.
Membership is available for a modest annual fee and there are regional branches in many areas of the UK with postal membership available to those in other areas or overseas. The UA Journal, published three times a year, includes members' articles of a medical and non-medical nature.
