The aims of the association are to ensure that people with motor neurone disease secure the care, information and support they need.

Activities include:

  • Care Team - a network of six motor neurone disease clinical specialists throughout Scotland funded by the charity and working from four hospitals.
  • Family information evenings.
  • Equipment loan service.
  • Grants to individuals in need.
  • Education service (free) and study days for health and social care professionals.
  • Counselling service.
  • Befriending service in Fife and Tayside.
  • Holiday caravan in St Andrews.

They produce a quarterly newsletter AWARE as well as a range of other publications. Many of these are downloadable from their website.
