QUIT is the UK's only charity whose main aim is to offer practical help to people who want to stop smoking. Quitting is not easy. QUIT does not lecture people but just gives down to earth help and advice about stopping for good. Call the QUITLINE to find out more about quitting or if you need a friendly and supportive ear to listen.

The QUIT Guide to Stopping Smoking gives information on products and methods to help stop smoking. It also includes '10 Steps to Quitting Smoking'.

The QUIT Guide to Feeling Healthy While Stopping Smoking offers practical suggestions on how to eat a healthy diet and become more active while quitting.

QUIT runs campaigns at certain times of the year. QUITLINE is open 7 days a week 9am - 9pm.

PS - Health and Poverty

Perhaps the biggest cause of ill health in the world is poverty. Help to Make Poverty History. For example, why not lend some of your money to disadvantaged communities to enable them to trade their way out of poverty through schemes such as Shared Interest.

See also MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY North East for details and links to campaigns against poverty.
