The Parkinson's Disease Society is a registered charity existing to help all people with Parkinson's Disease, their families, carers and friends. Most of the Society's work is connected with information provision. As well as a quarterly newsletter, the Society produces a wide range of information for the newly-diagnosed, the person suffering from more advanced Parkinson's Disease and their relatives. The Society currently funds and supports a wide range of research projects and welfare programmes.

There are over 230 local Parkinson's Disease Society branches all over the country. They offer opportunities for mutual support, social activities, fund-raising and practical help at local level. There is also a national group for younger people with Parkinson's Disease.

Perhaps the biggest cause of ill health in the world is poverty. Help to Make Poverty History. For example, why not lend some of your money to disadvantaged communities to enable them to trade their way out of poverty through schemes such as Shared Interest.
