Optical Consumer Complaints Service (OCCS) is an independent body set up to settle complaints from members of the public who are not satisfied with the services received from an optician.
OCCS publishes an advice leaflet telling you about the services you can normally expect to receive, and explains what you should do if you are not happy, in any way, about the services you have. The advice leaflet can be viewed and downloaded from their website.
When OCCS gets your complaint they will try to resolve it as quickly as possible.
For a free leaflet contact the above address or website. Data protection legislation requires the OCCS to have the complainant's authority to act and a form giving the OCCS written authority can be downloaded from the website.
Please note that OCCS does not deal with matters carried out under the NHS as these fall within the remit of the Health Authority and Primary Care Trust.
