The National AIDS Trust (NAT) is a leading independent policy and campaigning voice on HIV and AIDS. A registered charity, they develop policies and campaign to halt the spread of HIV, and improve the quality of life of people affected by HIV and AIDS, both in the UK and internationally.
All their work is focused on achieving four strategic goals:
- Effective HIV prevention in order to halt the spread of HIV.
- Early diagnosis of HIV through ethical, accessible and appropriate testing.
- Equity of access to treatment, care and support for people living with HIV.
- Eradication of HIV-related stigma and discrimination.
In order to achieve these broad goals, NAT has identified six distinct work streams:
- Prevention and Testing
- Health and Social Care
- Poverty and Social Disadvantage
- The Law, Human Rights and Discrimination
- Public Awareness and the Media
