Gingerbread Northern Ireland works with and for one parent families. The organisation provides a range of services and advocacy for one parent families including the following.

  • An advice and information service, giving information on welfare benefits, family law, child support.
  • Training opportunities for lone parents - eg information technology, personal effectiveness and employment-linked training.
  • Membership Network.
  • A respite creche at each centre.
  • Research briefings and general leaflets (eg an advice pack) are also available.
Gingerbread can also provide leaflets for GP's, practice nurses and patients alike, please contact the above for further details. They are also willing to visit practices to discuss the services they provide.

Perhaps the biggest cause of ill health in the world is poverty. Help to Make Poverty History. For example, why not lend some of your money to disadvantaged communities to enable them to trade their way out of poverty through schemes such as Shared Interest.
