Genetic Interest Group is the national alliance of voluntary organisations with a membership of over 130 charities which support children, families, and individuals affected by genetic disorders and their families. It provides the following.

  • A service to link individuals (lay and professional) and families with professional services in the NHS, support groups, and other sources of information advice and support.
  • Seminars, conferences and workshops on a range of topics relevant to specialist and general audiences.
  • Information and briefing on policy and service delivery issues.
  • Response and campaigning activity in respect of abuses of genetic information.
  • GIG also undertakes a range of projects to provide information, educational and training materials.
  • Free publications and information on genetic disorders.
