Fertility UK is an information and education service giving practical instruction in fertility awareness and natural methods of family planning to clients and accredited training for health professionals. The office keeps a database of experienced Fertility Awareness/NFP teachers throughout the UK. The service is increasingly provided by specialist nurses and doctors in general practice, or family planning clinics. Features of the service include the following.
- Practical instruction in fertility awareness to identify the fertile days of a woman's menstrual cycle.
- Practical instruction in natural family planning.
- Offering understanding of family planning choice and information on reproductive health issues.
- Fertility awareness can be used to achieve pregnancy and is particularly beneficial for sub-fertile couples.
- Natural family planning is a highly effective method of avoiding pregnancy provided couples are well-motivated and properly taught.
- Accredited training for health professionals.
