The Family Welfare Association (FWA) aims to create a caring and secure society with supportive communities where families - living together or apart - can control their lives and futures. FWA's services are partly funded by contracts with health and local authorities, but the Association also relies on the generosity of individuals, companies and charitable trusts. FWA provides the following services.

  • Services for people with mental health problems and their families and carers.
  • Support services for children and their families.
  • Well-family services in GP practices.
  • Financial help for families.
  • Educational grants advice.

PS - Health and Poverty

Perhaps the biggest cause of ill health in the world is poverty. Help to Make Poverty History. For example, why not lend some of your money to disadvantaged communities to enable them to trade their way out of poverty through schemes such as Shared Interest.

See also MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY North East for details and links to campaigns against poverty.
