Family Rights Group is an independent, voluntary organisation working with parents, carers and relatives of children who are involved with social services about the care and protection of their children.
They offer a confidential advice service in England and Wales and a London based advocacy service to help families involved with social services.
Their advice and advocacy service can:
- Provide advice and information on childcare law, procedures and policy.
- Help people understand their options and rights.
- Help people prepare for case conferences, review meetings, core groups and other meetings with social services.
- Accompany clients to meetings and at times, speak or negotiate on their behalf.
- Draft letters and help in the preparation of other documents.
- Provide details of solicitors on the children panel if formal legal representation is needed.
The Advice and Advocacy Service takes referrals from:
- Individuals
- Social workers
- Callers to the advice line
