A Different Journey aims to support those widowed at a young age, and their children. Coming from a Christian perspective, A Different Journey seeks to offer hope and support to those of all faiths and none.

Activities include:

  • Newsletter published three times a year. It gives useful information and helpful advice, and provides people with opportunities to share their thoughts and experiences.
  • Various events to enable those attending to meet with other young widowed people; take time out from the normal daily activities; learn from shared experiences; relax and enjoy the surroundings; talk, cry, reflect, laugh - and to do whatever is helpful.
  • Telephone network - if you would like to talk to someone who understands your situation.
  • Friends’ Network - an informal way for people who have lost a partner early in life to contact each other through correspondence or email.

PS - Health and Poverty

Perhaps the biggest cause of ill health in the world is poverty. Help to Make Poverty History. For example, why not lend some of your money to disadvantaged communities to enable them to trade their way out of poverty through schemes such as Shared Interest.

See also MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY North East for details and links to campaigns against poverty.
