Lumps in the Neck
Neck lumps can be caused by various processes such as;
- normal growth of the larynx or voice box at male puberty
- minor skin problems eg acne, lipomas and seborrhoeic warts
- pea like lymph nodes beneath the skin - often caused by the body's response to infection, but sometimes indicating more serious disease
- deeper thyoid swelling alongside the larynx (possible hyperthyroidism)
- rarely, tumours of the larynx and other organs
